Living it Out

It’s been a while since I’ve written and I’m sure other bloggers have gone through this…life just more being ‘lived’ than being written about but it’s time to connect again.

Living a presence-led life is explained to us in Romans 8 better than any other passage in the Bible in my understanding, when it concludes that “ we serve not under obedience to the old code of written regulations but under obedience to the promptings of the spirit in newness of life.” (Romans 7:6 AMP.)

It goes on to say in Romans 8:11-14 “If the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then He who raised us Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you…we are debtors, but not to the flesh, we are not ruled by the standards set up by the dictates of the flesh. For, if you live according to the dictates of the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the Holy Spirit you are habitiually putting to death the evil deeds prompted by the body, you will surely and genuinely live forever! For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”

You might enjoy the Passion translation of those verses as well…11 Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!

12 So then, beloved ones, the flesh has no claims on us at all, and we have no further obligation to live in obedience to it. 13 For when you live controlled by the flesh, you are about to die. But if the life of the Spirit puts to death the corrupt ways of the flesh, we then taste his abundant life.

14 The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit.

When we start out as new believers we need those ‘‘written” instructions to learn the Word of God and the ways of God. As in any relationship the more acquainted you become with someone the more you can judge how they would think or act in situations. Jesus told his disciples when he was about to leave the earth, that they were ‘stepping up’. He said, I no longer call you servants but friends, because the Father shares with you what is to come. The Holy Spirit’s job is to guide us into all truth, and as we yield to Him, and follow after the spirit we will become better acquainted with what’s to come. He wants us to walk with Him and work with Him (Matt. 11) and learn His unforced rhythms of grace. He wants to partner with us in our labor as we partner with God in His plans! And oh, what glorious plans those are! We are coming into a new era of the move of God and we will experience the GREATER of God in this hour. It’s mandatory that we mature and live this life “moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit.” Make it your goal for 2020…your vision is clearing, and your call is more certain. Choose the way of the Spirit and habitually put your flesh to death…these are the days of the exceedingly and abundantly more than we could dare ask or think! LIVE IT OUT~
