It’s been three years now since my New Year’s word was “fluid”. I loved the sound of it at the time, especially because I love to FLOW!
I interpreted it as a deeper place of following the leadership of the Holy Spirit, yielding to His will over my own which was all true. What I didn’t anticipate is that life would go from a structured plan to a yielded flow and eventually what felt more like vapor—with very little ability to plan.
Now, I’m a self-admitted, semi-professional planner. Its how God made me. I get ideas, I see how to do it, I live by the calendar and I LOVE to have a plan!
Years ago, I jokingly added these words as I would preach from Proverbs 19:21…”there are many plans in a man’s mind (and even more in a woman’s!) but the Lord directs his steps and God’s purpose will stand.”
Now I see that the bottom line is GOD has the plan. He’s not really needing me to come up with a plan but rather grow to a place where I work with Him to fulfill His plan. After all, He has had a plan since the foundation of the world and He’s been patiently waiting for you and I to bring our supply to fulfill that plan
The presence led life is a life of yielded-ness. Its coming to the forks in the road over and over and choosing to yield—to give way to the greater one and choose to follow rather than lead.
So, this year…“Be not like the horse or the mule, which lack understanding, which must have their mouths held firm with bit and bridle, or else they will not come with you.”
Psalms 32:9
Make it your determination in 2022 to yield to the greater one within. Those that are led by the spirit of God are called the sons and daughters of God! What an honor!
